Hollywood Temple Beth El
Hollywood Temple Beth El is one of the oldest and best known synagogues in Los Angeles. Its founding members included notables of the entertainment world including Louis B. Mayer and the Warner Brothers, and past benefactors have included Edward G. Robinson and Max Factor, the cosmetics titan as well as his brother John Factor.
Today we are home to two congregations: one Conservative and the other Persian, and from time to time we have joint services and events. Our members come from all walks of life, from native born to Holocaust survivors, refugees from the former Soviet Union, Israelis, North African and Middle East..
We are an egalitarian congregation and knowledgeable members are encouraged to lead various parts of the service. Shabbat services are preceded by a lively discussion led by Rabbi Weinberg, with coffee and nibbles, and we follow our services with more nibbles and socialization.. Our building is available to members for celebrating life cycle events such as weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
Keep in touch with us for upcoming concerts , Book Club, Film Club and other events..
We are looking forward to seeing you soon.!
